Qinghai Provincial Development and Reform Commission Refines Peak-Valley Electricity Pricing Mechanism to Promote User-Side Energy Storage Development

The Qinghai Provincial Development and Reform Commission has refined its time-of-use electricity pricing mechanism, expanding the peak-valley price spread to at least 4:1. A midday off-peak period has been added to improve profitability for behind-the-meter energy storage projects. This policy will enhance the economic viability of such projects and promote the safe, orderly growth of distributed energy storage.
